Chandler's Baby Shower

We are truly blessed with the most thoughtful and helpful neighbors EVER!  Even knowing this, I was still blown away by their generosity when they called and said that they wanted to do a shower for Baby Chandler!  Here is a picture of me with 2 of my neighbors and the hostesses of this shower, Karin (in pink) and Erin (in black).

THEN...I was totally blown away by HOW CUTE and HOW NICE everything looked at the shower!!  They are so good!  Check it out!

As party favors, they made these "baby powder" scented candles for everyone to take home.

It says:
Here's a candle for you to light
Once the stork has made its flight.
The flame will glow to celebrate,
Baby Chandler's arrival date

They had some cute and fun games planned.
And it was so fun to see people who I don't get to see as often as I'd like!

After the shower, I had a chance to organize Chandler's new things and we really ended up with a great assortment of practical things,
(Notice the personalized pacifiers!)
Crazy Cute things,
(and notice the detail on the sides of the canvas)
AND things that are useful AND cute!
Erin and Karin, thank you so much for all of the hard work, time and effort you put into making this shower so PERFECT for Chandler and me!  Thank you also to everyone who took precious time out of your days to come and be an important part of this day for us.  It really does mean so much more to me than I can actually put down in words!

Chandler will be here in just a little over 2 weeks!  I had an appointment today and the doctor guestimated her to be about 6 1/2 lbs!  I go back next Wednesday to get checked for "signs of labor."

I'll leave you with this picture of Brooklyn.  She came into the room where I was taking pictures of the gifts and started saying, "Cheeeeeeese," so I just had to take this pic (even though she has no pants on?)...

Chandler's Room!

Have a mentioned that I have absolutely NO TALENT at all for decorating???  BUT...I'm pretty good at finding ridiculously nice people who are really good at it and are willing to help...and by "help" I mean, do it all while I sit back and nod my head in approval.  For Chandler's room, I recruited Mom to be the decorator and I couldn't be any more pleased with the results!!  Here are a few before and after pics...

Wall 1

My sister-in-law, Ashley, was so crazy nice to let us borrow this crib and paint it black to match the room!!  I LOVE the way it turned out!  She also let us borrow the cute little rocking lamb that just fits perfectly!
For the letters, I was thinking zebra stripe and Mom was thinking black with green polkadots.   When we hung practice letters above the crib neither one looked quite right...and then Mom remembered seeing something like this on-line and it was the perfect solution!!

Wall 3

My sister-in-law also let us borrow and paint this changing table.  Isn't she the best?  My crafty mother did the knobs to match the room.

Mom found this cute picture on-line, but the website wouldn't let us print it off. So...I took a picture with my phone and e-mailed it to myself so I could print it off my e-mail.  Technology is FABULOUS!  Then Mom used that picture as her template to paint this crazy cute canvas and it actually looks better than the original!  Way to go, Sue!!

Wall 4

Handprints and footprints will go in the green and white frames and a sonogram picture is in the black frame, but it is really hard to see it in this picture.

The room is really small so it is hard to get far enough back to get a good picture of an entire wall AND I feel like, as always, the room is cuter in person than it appears in the pictures...so come see it soon in real life!  I'm so excited that it is finished, though, with just 4 weeks to spare!

I'm 36 weeks now and I'm still feeling great, but I am done playing tennis.  I had a doctor's appointment today and everything is looking good (heartrate 133, measuring on track and is still head down).  I am going weekly now, but they won't start checking for "signs of labor" for 2 more weeks.  I'll keep you posted!

Our Weekend in Review...

Chuck-E-Cheese with the neighbors!

My WONDERFUL neighbor, Erin, knows how much we LOVE to get out of the house during the day, but also knows that I cannot tolerate the heat at this stage in my pregnancy.  So...last week she and her daughters invited B and I to go to Chuck-E-Cheese with them.

No surprise...B LOVED Chucky!  She just couldn't get close enough to the one above.   And, as you can see below, she not only wanted to ride in the car with him, but NEEDED to be IN his lap!

The rides were OK, but her favorite things were the things that didn't require tokens.

Riding the slide and doing what the big kids were doing...laying on the floor...yuck!
She was having so much fun that I couldn't force her to eat or drink anything the whole time we were there even though we went at lunchtime and she hadn't had much to eat that whole day.  So...if you ever need a cheap date, just take B to Chuck-E-Cheese.  She doesn't require any food or tokens!
Thanks, Erin, Alexa and Addisyn!!  We had a blast!

Sleepover

My neice and nephew, Lawson and Hudson, came to spend the night with us Saturday!
How sweet are they?!?

Before they went to bed, though...

They entertained Brooklyn for a little while.

Then, Hudson and Eddie did "guy things" like shooting hoops and watching baseball on TV.

While Lawson helped me and mom wash, sort, fold and hang Baby Chandler's new clothes.

And Brooklyn pretty much entertained herself for like an hour under this baby swing that we just got down from the attic, but haven't put back together yet.  Who knew that could be so much fun???

And Sunday, we managed to get all 3 kids fed, dressed and to church by 9:30!!
(Of course, with much help from my mom who happened to be in town for the weekend  =))

So...Eddie and I probably looked like we were the proud parents of 3 children with 1 more on the way!!  Thanks for visiting, Lawson and Hudson!!  Come back again soon!!

Alexa's Birthday Party

The neighbor, Alexa, that we mentioned earlier, had her 5th birthday party on Sunday at ASI Gymnastics and Brooklyn had SO MUCH FUN!!

It was a puppy-themed party!

And Brooklyn was so hungry, that she even ate PIZZA, which apparently she'll do if she's hungry enough!!

But the best part was the GREEN icing on the cupcakes!

Happy birthday, Alexa!!  Thank you so much for inviting us to your party!!
