Brooklyn - age 6

Our Sweet Brooklyn is 6!
Here are a few of the things that I've failed to blog over the past year and also a few fun facts about Brooklyn at age 6!

4th of July 2013 and she's eating her favorite thing for breakfast...orange juice and a pink donut (she also LOVES chocolate donuts) and she LOVES going to the donut shop on Saturday mornings with her Dad and sister!
Art Camp with her good friend Kiaya!

Her favorite color is pink and she is really good about helping out with chores at home.
She unloads the dishwasher, makes her bed, cleans the playroom, and can fold and put away her own laundry!
 Her favorite sports:
swimming, soccer and gymnastics
Her best friend is Chandler and they play VERY WELL together 90% of the time!
Below is where they made mosaics with their friends Kiaya and Ava.
Some of her favorite things to do with Mommy are go to the grocery store and to go get my carwashed!  And yes, they really are usually this sweet at the grocery store...as long as I bring those snack cups of goldfish, they are the best little shopping buddies!

And, of course, no week is complete without a visit to our favorite place...
Chickfila!
This is how we roll at the carwash....
they eat their snack and stand in those chairs so they can watch the excitement!

The Friday before school started, there was an ice cream social where you go to the school and find out who your teacher will be.
 "Magic" Birthday party

So far, Brooklyn has been the only child that we've felt comfortable enough taking with us to Razorback games...she LOVES sports and is very competitive...no idea where she gets that from...
When she grows up, she wants to be a cook so that's how she dressed on "Community Helper" day at school.
 All dressed for soccer!
State Fair 2013

Brooklyn with the new Big Tex!
 Pumpkin patch at school!
 Church fall festival...she was Tinkerbell
 Crazy sock day at school
(I know those aren't very crazy, but it was the best we could do at the last minute.)
Halloween Party before heading out Trick-or-Treating with friends

Boosterthon was a big fundraiser that had at their school and these are the prizes she won thanks to the help of some very special family members.  Her smile says it all!
Brooklyn started off her school year very shy and wouldn't talk in front of her classmates, participate is dance-along activities or raise her hand.  By the end of week 2, her confidence grew and she blossomed both inside and outside the classroom.  She started talking to complete strangers and carrying on conversations whenever we were out anywhere.  I'm so thankful for Kindergarten!
 Bowling soccer party above
And crazy hat day below.
This was her actual Boosterthon day where she walked/ran 50 laps!
And had to get up and dress herself because I woke up with a stomach bug!
Huge thanks to the neighbor for fixing her hair and taking her and for various friends who sent me pictures because I wasn't able to go.
 80's day at her school
 Crazy Hair Day

When the ice hit, school was cancelled, but it didn't stop us from going to see Frozen for the first time!
 Christmas Dance Recital
 Santa and Spaghetti
 PJ Day at school
All glammed up in their sequins for Reese's birthday party!
 Happy New Year!
Our neighbor brought over some sparkling apple juice and those cute flutes and hats for them to ring in the New Year!  They added the fancy dresses on their own.  =)
 Movie night at B's school!
 Rangers Game
She was bound and determined to get our whole section chanting,
"Let's go, Rangers" (clap-clap, clap-clap-clap)
Yelled her lungs out!
She lost her bottom 2 teeth during the past year and the top 2 are wiggly (and have been for maybe 4 months???)
Her best friends right now (other than Chandler) are Addison Young and Elise Harding.
Brooklyn is the perfect mix of sweet, calm and focused....and hilarious, loud and playful!
She does both of these to their extremes.
 Memorial Day this Year
She's also really sweet with Gibson.  She "watches him" for me while I put on make-up or fix my hair.
She can almost always make him laugh and is really good about teaching him new words.
This year at VBS...2 of her besties from school.
At age 6, Brooklyn is pretty fun to be around!  She is such a good helper and is mostly cooperative.  She never gets tired and gives 100% to whatever she is doing.  She is VERY snuggly when it comes to movies or plays and she often says really sweet things that just make your day.
We love her so much and are so thankful to God for putting her in our lives!!

Happy 6th Birthday, Brooklyn!!

Brooklyn's 6-Year Frozen Birthday Party

Brooklyn's 6th Birthday party began the night before as they often do...
Her ACTUAL birthday had already taken place and she had gotten this fancy pedicure set so we decided to make her toes beautiful for the party.
And by "we", of course I mean Mimi...I'm the queen of delegation on these big party weekends.  =)
Brooklyn had just finished up her last day of VBS and was looking Super-cute in her Purple Power VBS shirt.
Both sets of Grandparents were in town as well as her Aunt Brooke and other Nalley cousins so they got in a little snuggle/movie time before bed.
Mimi and Gibson also squeezed in a little bit of snuggle time before bed!

The next morning, B put on her new "Frozen" swimsuit, "Frozen" flip flops and "Fozen-colored" cover-up to head off to swim team practice before her party.
Here was the set-up for the party!
And another picture that includes the thrown of honor for Princess Brooklyn.
Her seat was adorned with her very own personalized "Frozen" beach towel.
My awesome friend owns an ETSY shop and made this amazing banner...wish I'd gotten clearer pictures of it because it was spectacular!!

Check out this awesome "Do you want to build a snowman" sign that Mimi made for our snacks!

Dad was in charge of manning the drink station and labeling everyone's water bottles.
 He nailed it!

B rocked her new Sophia the First goggles Aunt Ashley and the Giblets gave her on her ACTUAL birthday!

Many of her sweet friends personally picked out the gifts they gave her this year and they did so perfect!  So many amazing little friends!

And so fun that cousin Henry could be here this year!  They are only 4 days apart in age and are best of friends, but haven't gotten to spend much time together because he's lived in Tamp since they were 1.  He just moved to Texas, though, so this made her party so special!
We didn't totally plan out the car ride situation ahead of time so Mimi kind-of ended up with the short end of the stick here.  She got situated underneath all of the party decor and between the kids carseats on the way home.  This pic does not do the comical situation justice at all.  She's just a good sport.  That's all I'm saying.
After the party, the littles all napped and these big kids stayed up to play with some of B's new toys.
 pretty sweet...
After dinner, all the kids got cleaned up for 1 more round of gift opening from Gigie and Big Bird.

And their gifts were total hits as usual!
Then they ended the day just as they did the night before!
Exhausted and snuggled up in front of the TV.
Perfect Party Day!

(And I must mention that the club was awesome and blasted the "Frozen" soundtrack over the poolside speakers throughout her party.  I'm sure the non-party patrons were loving that!  =))
