Wow! December was a crazy month! Here's a brief snapshot of what happened!
Santa came to Chandler's school. She was so excited about it.
I wasn't sure what Gibson would think...he's such "mama's boy" and usually won't let anyone else hold him if I'm around (not even Daddy). So...I waited until the last second to put him in Santa's lap and...
He loved him??? So strange!
Then...we had an ice storm and were without electricity from about 6 in the morning until 7 that night and it was freezing outside!! No problem at the Nalley house though. Eddie set out early in the day to get us some groceries (and braved the icy roads) and bought us a generator!
With the generator, we were able to plug in a refrigerator, a TV, and when it got dark, a couple of lamps and our cell phones. It was actually a pretty fun adventure!
We wore coats, hats and gloves all day and stayed near the fire. I had just gotten down a bin of seasonal Christmas toys that entertained the girls all day and Eddie made us chili over the fire! That night, when we were praying, Brooklyn thanked God for the ice storm! And Eddie may or may not have been a little disappointed when the power came back on. He had a bought a heater and had a whole system in place of how to keep the kids warm while they slept!
The next day, the roads were better, but I was ready to get out of the house so I thought it'd be appropriate to take the girls to see Frozen at the theater. I can't remember the last time we went to see a movie, but the girls were AWESOME and the movie was a great movie about SISTERS!
Then I had my tennis Christmas party. One of the tennis ladies hosted it who just moved into this MANSION!! I did NOT belong there. This picture was taken in her CLOSET!!
Next up?
Chan's mini Christmas recital...she looked super-cute and did a great job!
Followed by Brooklyn's mini Christmas recital
She did great also!
Eddie, Chandler and Gibson were there for hers
well...kinda...clearly Chandler missed her nap that day and passed out in the car on the way
We went to see an awesome Christmas light display (but sadly took almost no pictures)
It was in a park in Grand Prairie...you drove through AMAZING light displays, then about half-way thru, you could get out and walk thru a portion
They even had a couple of rides in this portion
We all had a blast!
Just out to eat one night with the girls dressed up in some Christmas clothes
Then we had our annual Carroll Family Christmas
(where my mom's WHOLE side of the family gets together)
B & C with their cousins...love how their little clothes patterns look together and ALL the read bows!
Brooklyn and her cousin, Cannon having so much fun together
The kids had a blast at our friends' annual Santa and Spaghetti
Pajama Day at Brooklyn's school
Pajama Day and Christmas party at Chan's school
It is so fun to see Chandler interact with all her little friends at school
Gibson came, too, and fell in love with pigs in a blanket!
Santa made a surprise visit at their party. He came in and sat next to Gibson and the kids surrounded them so that I couldn't get to his stroller. Gibson started babbling to Santa non-stop for like 10 minutes while every child took a turn in his lap. It was hilarious!! I've never heard him do that before!
Next up...B's party!
Christmas Eve Service
Well, we tried anyway. Brooklyn stopped crying long enough (and only long enough) for this picture.
Gibson started feeling bad this day and so I didn't want to take him to the nursery in case he might get other babies sick. By the time the service started, B was still crying and Gibson really felt awful so we left.
This is him once we got home to eat dinner. Feeling terrible! Poor fella
Santa arrives
The girls spent the day playing with their new Barbies, Mermaids, My Little Ponies and Sophia the First Magnet Dress Up Dolls
They had a great day...
But Gibson did not. =( He spent the day in my lap in the play room.
He was so miserable, but it WAS some sweet snuggle time!!
The next day, the kids and I went to DooDad and Mimi's house because Eddie had to go back to work.
They got to open a few more presents and see their Uncle Brady before he had to go back to Houston.
The best part of the day might have been that we got a few smiles out of Gibson who was still feeling so terrible!
The Buie's were there, too, so of course the cousins all had fun together!
Uncle Robbie even found a way to keep Gibson happy for a little bit and let him play on his REAL lap-top!
That night all the kiddos put on their jammies and we went to see more Christmas lights!
Sweet snuggle time!!
After a VERY rough night, I took G to the Dr...turns out, he had RSV. =(
We went to Eddie's parents the next day and this picture is a more accurate depiction of just how Gibson felt over the entire Christmas break!
It was actually kind-of neat being at the Nalley's because Eddie's ENTIRE family was their which is a very rare treat! Their cousins on that side of the family live in Tampa and we rarely get to see them so getting them all together was really fun!
Henry and Brooklyn are the oldest kiddos and are just 4 days apart!!
Below, look at Chandler with her sweet cousin, Olivia...they are just 7 months apart.
So...that's where our December went! Fun times (except when poor little G was sick)!
