Finally! A trip to the zoo that didn't turn out to be a circus!!
Our girls are finally at a great age and stage for the zoo!
It was such a fun and successful day!
If you haven't tried the Dallas zoo lately, give it a try!
They have these GIANT turtles (don't know if you can truly appreciate their size in this pic.)
They let you do camel rides.
(If you are thinking that it kind-of looks uncomfortable to be riding on the tip-top of the hump, you are right!! But they made me! Ouch!) But Brooklyn LOVED it and that's what's important.
You can get totally up close and personal with the leopards...
and lions.
This is in the restaurant we ate at for lunch. Perfect way to keep them entertained until our food was ready.
But the giraffes may be the coolest exhibit of all.
They let you feed and pet the giraffes!!
In fact, they were so close and the crowd was so tight around us it was hard to get back far enough to get a picture.
Then, they have this great monorail ride that you can take to see even more animals! (and rest your legs ;))
The girls were very interested in the animals and pretty cooperative for the most part. It was too terribly hot and for once, I was happy with our set-up. The wagon is a great way to go!!
Very memorable day as a family!!
Haha, I can't believe you rode a camel- that's hysterical!
ReplyDeleteToo bad your zoo isn't as nice as our Gentry Safari...
