Lately...

The girls have be doing and saying some cute and funny things lately and I just wanted to make sure that I captured them somewhere.
Brooklyn:

1.  MANGER - When we were getting out of the car the other day, Brooklyn told me that she couldn't walk because she was very tired and her legs were very MANGER.  She slowed down when she got to this word and really emphasized it.  =)  HAVE NO IDEA what she might have been trying to say!!

2.  "Belly language" - Brooklyn makes series of strange sounds with her mouth closed and then translates that noise to let us know what her "belly says."  It might say that it's hungry, it's tired or that it likes the color pink.  Her belly keeps us on our toes!

3.  Lasterday - Meaning yesterday or any day in the past.  Used in a sentence:  "You member (remember) lasterday when we got our ears pierced?"

4.  Sweetness - The other day a little girl got sick in B's gymnastics class.  She got very "sick" over and over again before her mom could get down to help and it was very traumatizing for everyone there.  I was very sad for the little girl and really wanted to hurry to get home to wash B's hands so she didn't catch it.  But B's response???  She wanted to stop and pray for this little girl and pray that God would help her feel all better.  Now why wasn't this my first response?!?  Such a neat moment for me that my child would have the best response to a situation IN SPITE of me.  Thank you God!!

Chandler:

Have I mentioned that I think she might be a genius????  (Well, maybe I'm a little biased, but she IS really smart!!)

1.  She is potty trained (but still doing pull-ups at night...mostly wakes up dry, but we've had a couple of accidents.)  The other night we had friends over, though, and I was afraid she might be too excited and distracted to remember to go so I took her to the potty and asked her if she could poop (sorry to be so graphic).  She said, "UGH!  Too hard to do it...I can tee-tee you want."  (I can tee-tee IF you want me to).

2.  She recognizes ALL of her letters and can tell you what sound they all make.  She's barely 2!!  Blows.  My.  Mind.  She can also count to 20!!

3.  She LOVES tea!  So, for dinner, we've been letting her opt to have tea with her meals if she will eat what we are eating instead of "kid food" and she opts for the adult meal almost every time!!  Blows my mind that she will just eat vegetables and salad like it's no big deal!!

4.  Time-out.  Lately, if she does something she shouldn't (like scratches B), I'll ask her if she wants to go to time out and she'll say, "YETH!!" (that's yes with a lisp) with a HUGE smile on her face and giggle all the way back to our time out spot.  Once she sits down, she'll cry for about seconds with REAL tears.  When I go back there, she'll tell me she took a deep breath (which is what we've been preaching to Brooklyn to calm herself down when she's upset) .  Then, she is happy to tell you why she is in time-out, pray and then apologize to Brooklyn.  So strange.  It's like she's seen the routine for so long that she's decided that it's her turn to get in on the "time out" scene.

Sometimes, some of the pictures I take (or have sent to me) don't fall into a blog category or I just get behind so I'm posting a few of them here!

B & C doing craft time at Mimi and DooDad's while we were away at a football game.
Brooklyn is still really AMAZING at puzzles...worked this 48 peice one all by herself!!
Playing "birthday party" in random dress-up clothes.
The other night I took the girls to the Homecoming parade.  Chandler, along with EVERY OTHER child, LOVED the candy the kids were throwing out from the float...don't know if you can see that her face is covered in chocolate.
Brooklyn, however, couldn't care less about the candy.  Her favorite part was these glasses that were thrown from one of the floats.  Like, I don't think she ate a single piece of candy.  I have to admit, though, these glasses were pretty hilarious!
 playdate and picnic
 book at bedtime
I was in Gibson's room the other night and the girls were laughing hysterically while they were coming down the hall.  Apparently this is why...they were riding this stick horse together.
 The sisterly sweetness continues!!
Happy fall, ya'll!

Too Sweet Sisters

I don't know exactly how it happened...
But this night pictured above was historical.  They cuddled and SHARED the IPAD!!
And ever since then, they are all about snuggling with each other and being "cozy."

When we used to go places, they would each go in their own direction, but now they prefer to play and stick together.  It's SO CUTE and blesses my heart!!
You can hardly get them to take a picture together without B's arm around Chandler!
Brooklyn gives Chandler kisses and hugs all the time and says, "Chandler, I just love you SOOOO much!"
I'd even be as bold to say they get along 90% of the time!
My parents kept them for us last weekend and got to witness some of their sweetness.
All of these pictures below are of them playing together or just side by side while they were at my mom's.  Thanks for the pictures Mimi!
I'm so thankful that this sweet streak has come in time for Baby Gibson's arrival!!
Brooklyn will often help Chandler do these more "babyish" puzzles.  She'll show her where to put the pieces and when Chandler gets it right she'll say, "Great job, Chandler" and clap and sing her praises in a very excited voice.  She's an excellent cheerleader!
And for harder puzzles, or blocks, or legos...Chandler one by one will hand B the pieces to put them where they need to go.  I can't imagine that this is any fun for her, but Chandler is very patient to be a helper and do her part.
Just wish I could FREEZE them like this!
Love these girls!!

p.s.  Thanks, Mom and Dad, for keeping them over the past couple of weekends so we could go to the Razorbcak games!!

29 Weeks

I had my appointment this week and everything is looking great!

Gibson Palmer is head down just as he should be and his heartrate was 120, which is in the normal range.  He measured 30.5 weeks, which is 1 week ahead of when he is actually due.  My guess is that he is going to be a little bigger than the girls were when they were born.
Praise the Lord for continued good reports from the doctor!!!

I start going in every 2 weeks now...seems too soon to be doing that already!!

First Day of School 2012

Not only was this the first day of school for us for the 2012-2013 school year,
but it was Chandler's first day of school EVER!
She woke up first so we got her dressed, ready and did her pictures first.
Then I woke up poor sweet Brooklyn.  She was SO TIRED!  She is my late sleeper and I've been letting her sleep in all summer so getting up was the toughest part for her.
Brooklyn has recently turned a corner in life and is amazingly cooperative for pictures.
She even uses the word "cooperative" when we talk about taking pictures.  Love it!
Here they are doing their favorite "sweet sister" pose...that's what they call it.  Poor Chan is always in that choke hold...which explains the face.  =)
Then off to school we went!
The girls were both excited and there was never an ounce of fear or hesitation from either of them.
Chandler's teachers said she was "Very happy and was all smiles most of the day."  They said she cried a little bit at nap time before she feel asleep, but she did nap!!  AND...she stayed dry all day!!  Have I mentioned this child is just barely 2?!?  She's amazing!!
Not sure why B has her "dukes" up, but she is smiling, looking at the camera and being cooperative so I'll take it.  Her teachers simply said she had a great day!  I SOOO wish I could be a fly on the wall to see what she's like in a school setting!

So...great first day for us!  And I have to say I'm so thankful that both of the girls walked right in without any fuss.   I think I would have a little anxiety all day if we had gotten off to a rocky start with tears and fears.  Hopefully, they continue this behavior all year!
