Memorial Day 2012

Memorial Day Weekend this year was fabulous!
We met up with my sister and her family, and my Mom and Dad at a water park!
 We ordered pizza
We enjoyed the sun...it wasn't too hot or cold
And Brooklyn and Chandler are at SUCH great ages and stages for a day at the water park.
Chandler is such a mommy's girl and is very cautious so she is super easy.  Mostly just just stays right by my side or just ventures into the water within an arms reach of me in very shallow water.
Cousin Hudson was pretending to be an alligator and "getting her."  He really does look a lot like an alligator!!
 Brooklyn is the total opposite.
She is ALL about adventure and is so much fun to watch because the water makes her so happy!
She had a blast swimming around with her cousins and playing ring around the rosy.
It makes my heart so happy to see them having so much fun with their sweet cousins!
Adventurous Brooklyn was all about going down this real slide!  Wish I had a picture of the whole thing because it was really tall!!  She still has NO FEAR whatsoever and Eddie had a blast taking her down.
If I had to describe a perfect day, it probably would be something very similar to this:
Food, Family, Fun, Water, Good Behavior and SUN!
When we went to load up in our cars, the adults were talking and Lawson and Hudson climbed into Eddie's truck to say good-bye to the kids.  We peeked in to see what was taking them so long and found them like this...SO CUTE!!
That night after we got home, had dinner and bathed,
the kids were SO SWEET!
Eddie and Chandler were snuggled up on the couch (they are big-time buddies these days)
and Brooklyn found her matching blanket for her baby doll and they cuddled up to watch TV.
Love.  It.
On Memorial DAY, we went to the donut shop and the park.
Brooklyn LOVES the dirt.  We have to get that girl to a beach soon!
After lunch at Chickfila and naps, we had a mani/pedi session
B's toes above and Chan's below
How terrible is it that this is the FIRST TIME I've ever done their nails?!?
The girls were in HEAVEN!!

Such a fun weekend with this fun little family!

A Mother's Day Weekend to Remember

Whew!  Where to began...
My Mom came in town on Thursday and we began a MAJOR 2-day shop-a-thon to redo my guest bedroom with these 2 very precious helpers!  (More on the updated guest bedroom later this summer!!)
For the most part, they were pretty good little shoppers and we got A TON accomplished!
Then, as a thank you to them (and us!), we treated them to Chickfila.
Wish B's hair showed up a little better in the pic above.  Mom had it fixed sooooo cute!

Eddie's parents came in town Friday night so we had 3 of the 4 grandparents here for Brooklyn's first EVER dance recital!!  (Dad had to work)

On Saturday (dance recital day), the guys played golf, the grandmother's watched the girls so I could get myself ready and run several last minute errands to get ready for the recital and Mother's Day.

The Grandmother's took them to the donut shop then brought them home and played with them in the playroom.  I wasn't there, but from the looks of their pictures, I think they had a really good time!!

Then it was time to get ready for the recital...so much fun!!

Then we had a little photo session at the house before heading out...

Bless her heart...she's a bit of an awkward poser.  =)

Everyone wanted to have their picture made with the star...

Including ME!
Brooklyn did a great job at the recital!!
She's on the far right.  She didn't exactly KNOW the routines, but she had her eye on the teacher the whole time and tried her hardest.  I was VERY PROUD!!
I was also quite proud of Chandler!  We got there 30 minutes early and the recital was 2.5 hours and Chandler was perfect THE WHOLE time!!  Mostly just sat in my lap and watched.  I was AMAZED!!

Good Job, Chandler
And good job, Brooklyn!!

And, of course, Chandler couldn't stand to be left out of the picture.

Then after recovering from the recital, it was Mother's Day and I really can't imagine a Mother's Day getting any better than this one!!
First of all, because of the sweetness of these 2 sweet girls!

Plus, having all the grandparents in town was really special.
We went to church Sunday morning and Dad surprised Mom driving all the way up and showing up at church.  SO FUN!!  What a great Dad!
Eddie and I cooked a fancy lunch for the mother's (with tons of help from Lou and Steve!!).
And, after lunch, we had 1 more special treat for the Mothers (and Fathers, too).

Chandler and Brooklyn brought them gift sacks that contained picture frames with pictures of a sonogram in it.  That's right!  We are expecting!!  Due November 25th.

Then Eddie and I sent this picture out to our siblings and close friends to make our big announcement.  Such a fun day!!

Oh yeah...and Eddie and Lou cleaned up the entire kitchen and hand washed all of the china and serving platters.  Happy Mother's Day to me!!

So much fun and thank you so much to my dear friend, Koli, for letting us use her chalkboard and helping out with the picture!!  You are the best!!
