Girly Girls

Last Saturday my girls had the best day ever!!  My niece, Lawson, was celebrating her birthday at this really cool place called "Girly Girls," where you get to dress up in "costumes"...

You KNOW my girls were all about that!
Then you got to get a colorful hair extension and make-up.

Brooklyn has always been a little scared of make-up???  But we'd been talking it up all week and she was FINALLY ready to wear some for the first time ever!!

And Brooklyn has also always been afraid of having paint on her nails, but again, after talking it up all week, she couldn't WAIT her turn.  She had been saying all week that she wanted pink because it was her favorite color.  (having a favorite anything is also new!)
Chandler has always been a very girly-girl and was all about make-up and having her nails done.
Even though I knew she'd like it, I was shocked by how still she sat  to have it done!!
Then they got to eat yummy cupcakes

And Brooklyn had her first soda ever!
(that I know about =))
The girls had SOOOO much fun and were in total heaven!
Brooklyn could not stop staring at her nails the rest of the night and couldn't wait to show her Sunday school teacher the next morning at church.  As soon as we got home from church she asked me to take a picture of her nails and to send it to "her Gie-gie" (Eddie's mom), so we did!
She wanted to see the picture before I sent it...she told me she looked crazy in the picture above, so we took another one
Again, she thought she looked to crazy so I told her we would try ONE MORE TIME
Still looks a little crazy, but you see her nails so that's the most important part.

Happy 8th Birthday, Lawson!

Spring Break 2012

We started off the week with swim class.
(This is actually a picture from this week, though, because it was a very special...Brooklyn completed level 3 and will be promoted to level 4 next week...Congratulations, B!!)
We ran lots of errands, went to lots of parks, and had a playdate with Ava and Macy.
(love Ava's face on the end!!)
Our Chick-fil-a has a craft/activity toddler time on Wednesday mornings so the Wyatt girls came to check it out with us.
turns out it was just coloring sheets...not much of a "craft", but the girls had a lot of fun
Of course, the girls did some dressing up...
Breakfast fun with cute matching pigtails
Eddie's friend, Jimmy, came in town to try out for a game show and was VERY good with the girls!!
And, of course, it took B no time to warm up to him.
Saturday morning Eddie had to work so I took the girls to the donut shop for their first time ever and they loved it!
Not sure if you can tell what they are doing in this next picture, but they are sharing an orange juice with 2 bendy straws.  So sweet!!
Then, that afternoon when Eddie was off work, we took the girls to see The Lorax.  No pictures from this adventure.  Whew!  An 19-month-old in a very crowded theatre is a BUSY time!!

We had a lot of fun, but we are all happy back to our normal routine of activities!!

All Dressed Up...

The girls are really into dressing up these days.
Chandler and I went for a walk the other day and B wanted to stay home.  Eddie was there napping so B had the playroom all to herself.  When Chan and I got home we found her like this.
So then, of course, Chandler got right to work getting all dolled up herself!
And just for the record, B has on 2 tutus, 2 tiaras, a purple sparkly hat, a pair of 3D glasses, fairy wings, a boa, several necklaces and a boa.  Pretty fabulous being 3, huh?
Then the other day, I was cleaning up after a meal and heard way to much suspicious and hysterical laughter coming from our bedroom.  I rushed back there seriously afraid of what I was going to find.
To my relief, I found this:
B put on one of Eddie's shirts and his shoes all by herself.
Last week was Dr. Seuss week at B's school and so the kids were encouraged to dress up in anything Dr. Seuss related.
Well, we hit the jackpot on this one because Brooklyn's cousins all dressed up as Dr. Seuss characters this past Halloween and were kind enough to let us borrow some of their fabulous attire for the week.
Thank you so much Ashley and the Giblets!!
I am pretty sure there was not a contest, but if there had been, I think B might have won!
Since Brooklyn got such a great reaction out of me last time, she decided to hit Dad's closet again!
And this time she added the jeans.  Pretty hysterical!
And so, of course, Chandler had to follow suit.
Even now as I was typing this, B was cleaning up the playroom, but had to do it princess style.
(We had swim this morning which is why her hair might look even a little crazier than usual.)
And when they are not dressing up,
 they are occasionally getting along.
I might even dare to say that they are getting along more than they are fighting these days???
Saying things like that out loud, though, usually come back to haunt me.  =)
We jumped the gun a little and got Chandler a nap mat for school for next year and I thought I kept both of them in a hidden spot.
Apparently not though, because Brooklyn got them both out the other day and got them all set up like this in our living room.  Of course, both of the girls were really proud of themselves and thought they were really funny.
Chandler found this great little hiding spot when I was cooking dinner the other night.
Here they are in matching pi's watching Saturday morning cartoons and getting along so well!!
B is cool with sitting next to Chan and laughing and watching TV, but the affection is clearly just a little more than she can stomach.  Sweet, sweet Chandler!!
Just a little glimpse of what are lives are like these days!!

Valentines 2012

Happt Valentine's Day!!
I've GOT to get a new phone that takes better, clearer pictures because these few sweet moments come and go so quickly that my real camera isn't always close enough to catch them.
And, the girls actually had matching V-day pj's, but I was OBVIOUSLY half-way thru dressing Chan when spontaneously they decided to be super-cute and snuggly!

The girls are blessed to have such sweet grandparents that sent them very special little Valentine's Day treats!

Brooklyn had her Valentine's Day party at school and we finally got to meet Stuart!!  Brooklyn would NOT talk at school the whole first semester.  Shortly after this semester started, one of the kids moved to a new class, and in their place came Stuart.  Since his arrival, Brooklyn has really started talking and being her normal self.  The teachers are amazing and loving this transformation.  All semester we've been so thankful for this Stuart kid and were so excited to finally get to meet him!!

The teachers say that they are best buds at school!!
Once again, wish I had remembered to bring my real camera because this one is so fuzzy!

This year I gave Eddie his 4th wedding ring!
(1 was stolen and 2 were "forever misplaced")
Clearly, he was so surprised.  =)
