Chandler's First Tailgate

5-weeks-old at her first Razorback tailgate!
She did great!  She pretty much just slept the whole time while people passed her around and enjoyed the sweetness of a newborn baby.
It was the Arkansas vs. Alabama game when Arkansas was undefeated and was playing #1 nationally ranked Alabama.  The game was a real nail-biter.

Brooklyn cheered the Hogs on from Texarkana where she was staying with my parents.
(She's wearing her cute pink new Razorback shirt in case you can't tell in the picture.)
But it wasn't enough.  =(  In the end, we lost the game and no one was more upset about it than sweet baby Chandler.

We Nalley's are a competitve bunch and just HATE to lose!

Who's the FAIR-est of them all?

I think it is a little crazy that we went to the FOUR STATES fair (no offense Texarkana) this year when we live only minutes from the big STATE FAIR of TEXAS.  It was too tempting to pass up, though, when we had 1. an invitation to go and 2. a babysitter for Chandler.
Our invitation came from my brother, Landry and his wife, Ashley.  So here we are with them (and their four kiddos starting off the adventure with some fabulous fair food:  Chicken on a stick, fish on a stick, corn dogs on a stick (this place had everything you might want to eat on a stick), french fries, pizza and washed it all down with some fresh squeezed lemonade.

Next up?  Petting zoo!

Here she is "baaaa"-ing at the sheep.

 Just couldn't get close enough!!

I can't tell who is enjoying this more...Brooklyn or Eddie

Or maybe cousin Cannon?

Brooklyn loved getting to spend some time with her cousin, Reese.

Of course we made time for games
And then we got to ride some rides.
As soon as Brooklyn spotted this "choo choo train" ride she said, "All aboard!"
She loved every second of it and was sad when it was over and time to get off.
My parents kept Chandler while we were at the fair, but she did get to see her cousins before we left and they LOVED her.

As a matter of fact, Ashley said they cried when Mom finally took Chandler away and closed the doors to the vehicle.  Sweet cousins!!

And I'll leave you with a couple of recent pictures mom took of Chandler while she was at their house.

Are you ready for some FOOTBALL?

Sunday was such a great day!!  Not only did I get to get out of the house without a daiper bag, but I got to do one of the things that I love most...go to a live sporting event!!  And not just any sporting event, a FOOTBALL game, with my FAVORITE NFL team...the Dallas Cowboys at the new stadium!!

AND we got to go with some of my favorite people!!
(my brother, Landry, and his wife, Ashley)
The only 2 things that could have made this FABULOUS day any better would be:
1.  If the Cowboys won...which they didn't =(
and
2.  Seeing a celebrity

WHICH WE DID!!

Sitting about 10 rows in front of us (or maybe exactly 10 rows...not that I was counting), was....

Melissa Rycroft

Unfortunately for Melissa, I only watched one season of Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders:  Making the Team and it was the one season that she was on.  From there, I cheered for her on The Bachelor and Dancing With the Stars.  And currently, I stalk her on Good Morning America.  So...it only took me minutes after we took our seats to spot her!!  And, needless to say, I was star-struck!! We tried the whole game to get a decent picture of her.

But these were the best we could do...

After the game was over, we saw Melissa and Ty leaving and started to follow them out just in time to see Melissa going into the ladies' room.  By this time, Eddie had had enough of our obsession and took charge.  He walked right up to Ty (Melissa's husband), who was standing outside the restroom, said something to him, then motioned to Ashley and I to come over to where they were standing.  Ty had said it would be OK for us to get a picture WITH her!!  About this time, Melissa walks out to find Eddie, me, Ashley, Landry and Ty staring at her.  As you can imagine, she looked very confused, but agreed to take the picture.  Ashley and I stand on either side of her and start to put one arm around her for the group shot when we notice she has both hands firmly clutched around her beverage.  Apparently, no contact is allowed.  So...with our arms awkwardly down by our sides and our pride completely gone, we lean in and smile for the picture.

Even though we left the game winless and prideless, we had an absolute blast!!

Partying with the Cousins

First, we partied with Cousin Palmer (left), Cousin Griffin (middle) and Cousin Cannon (right)

with Milk and Cookies
To Celebrate their 2nd Birthdays!!
Brooklyn is so happy just entertaining herself...FOREVER!!
(she is like this at home, too, but ESPECIALLY at a new place with new toys)

Taking a break from all of the excitement
Indulging herself with yummy treats she normally doesn't get at home
And this was Chandler's first time to meet her Cousin Reese (the triplets' older sister),

Her Uncle Landry (my brother) and Birthday Girl Cannon.
I was kind-of nervous about keeping up with 2 children at the party, but somehow I managed just fine...
Happy Birthday Triplets!!  We had a blast at your party!  Thanks for letting us come!!

THEN...
We got to party with Cousin Hudson!!

At his super-cool Toy Story Party

And what could be more fun at a birthday party for a crazy-climbing, super-social 2-year-old than a 2-story playground and slide?!?  Brooklyn was having so much fun and moving so fast that I could not get a decent picture of her in it...these were my attempts:
She did slow down for 1 minute (literally probably 60 seconds total) for a drink of juice and a lick of icing off her cupcake before heading back to play...
And while I was doing my best to keep one eye on B at all times,
Chandler was in good hands.

(pictured above with my sister, Natalie...Hudson's Mom)
And not lacking for attention at any time during the party...

not even during a dirty diaper change
Who ARE these kids that would rather stare at and hold a sleeping baby than play on the AWESOME 2-story playground and slide down the 2-story slide???  Brooklyn definitely doesn't have this maternal gene!

Happy 4th Birthday, Hudson!!  We love you!!

1 Month Old!!

At 1 month of age, I would say Chandler is your pretty typical little baby.
She is a good eater, good sleeper, and goes through at least 12 diapers a day!

When she gets really mad, her voice starts to get a little horse and raspy and her cry sounds a little like a duck call to me.

Her eyes are starting to focus more and she smiles a lot.
(cutest little smile EVER)

She likes to be held and LOVES to be swaddled.
She is starting to sleep longer stretches through the night...like 4 1/2 hrs at a time!!

It took her 3 1/2 weeks, but her umbilical chord FINALLY fell off so we were able to give her her first real bath!
She hated it!
But then she got to be swaddled and got to snuggle with Daddy and life was good again!
