Party Animal!!

Brooklyn's cousin, Lawson, just turned six and invited Brooklyn to her birthday party.  Check out how cute it was decorated!
(Note that Lawson's brother, Hudson, has already marked his spot at the table with his orange sippy cup.)

The colors of the party of the party were obviously pink, black and white so of course, Brooklyn and Lawson were dressed appropriately!!

Party Time!

Since all the big kids were wearing their hats, so did B!
And the cupcakes were REALLY delicious!!

Although these pictures don't show it, she had an absolute BLAST at the party and hanging out with her cool cousins!

And then like all good things, it had to come to an end.

Thank you Lawson for letting us be apart of your big day.  WE LOVE YOU!!

p.s.  After her nap, we got back to Big Sister training.  I think she's really getting it down!

Baby #2

We went in for the "Big Ultrasound" today and it was GREAT news!!  Everything measured appropriately and the heartrate was in the 140s.  I think I've already talked to, e-mailed, facebooked, sent texts to everyone who reads this blog (all 3 of you =)), BUT if there is anyone still waiting to know....

IT'S

A

(Can you tell by the profile???)

GIRL!!!!

She is arching her back in the picture if you are wondering why she looks alittle strange, but they assured me that everything was completely normal.  NOW...the hard part.  Figuring out the name, the nursery, etc.  We will keep you posted as we make progress!

p.s.  Happy Birthday Cousin Lawson!!!  We hope you had a great day!!

She Said YES!!

One of my long-time best friends is getting married in June, so this weekend we threw her a shower in Texarkana.
Dana (Bride-to-be), Allison (one of our best friends from High School) and me

My friend Leslie makes super-cute banners so I had her make me one for the shower.  I think it turned out SOOO cute!!
She makes them for all occasions and in many different colors.  Check out all of her cute stuff!   www.etsy.com/shop/thespoiledwall

After the shower, we headed over to my brother's house so Brooklyn could play with her cousins.  She just had a blast playing with her cousin Reese!

And she is beginning to get into the Easter spirit thanks to her cool new hat from Mimi...Thanks Mimi Sue!

And just 3 more days until we find out the gender of Baby #2!!

Whew! Our Day at the Zoo

Our new neighbor's oldest daughter was out of school for Spring Break, it was a BEAUTIFUL day, and her cousin was in town (increasing the adult/child ratio) so we thought it would be a GREAT idea to take our girls to the zoo.  It was a great idea...but unfortunately, not so original.  The other MILLION people in the greater Dallas/Ft. Worth area were also thinking this same thing.

To start off our day, we first had to figure out how to load 3 carseats, 3 strollers, 3 adults and all other gear you might need for a day at the zoo (i.e. snacks, drinks, cameras, diapers, wipes, suncreen...).  After several arrangements were tried, we finally found a way to fit us all.  Here was my view from the front seat:
Back Row: Alexa, Cousin Marie and Brooklyn
Middle Row:  Addisyn and 2 giant strollers

Erin's Cousin, Marie, was such a trooper for being SQUISHED in the backseat and also being on fussing baby patrol.  She was in charge of keeping all of the kids happy and entertained.  We couldn't have done it without her!!

We made it to Fort Worth in just an hour despite running into construction traffic delays, and that's when we realized how popular the "zoo idea" was.  It took us another whole hour to sit thru zoo traffic, park, unload...well EVERYTHING, hike a mile to the entrance, wait in the ticket line and at last ENTER THE ZOO.  We had gone through many more of B's snacks than I had aniticipated and so, in desperation, I managed to find a package of oreo's to keep her happy while we waited in the ticket line to get into the zoo.

By this time, the rest of us were starving (especially the pregnat lady - ME!), so off to wait in a 30 minute line to get some lunch.  Ahhh...best pizza I've ever had!

So...3 hours after starting our adventure, we were off to finally see some animals!  Keep in mind, the two little ones are already WELL past their usual nap-time by now so we are very short on time and the lines to even get to SEE the animals were outrageous.  We were determined, though, not to leave the zoo without at least getting to see the giraffes, elephants, lions/tigers, and monkeys.
She LOVED seeing the animals.  She would giggle and jump up and down.  Here we are with the elephant.

And the lion.  Even though it took us nearly 2 hours, we had success seeing all of our "goal" animals.  Unfortunatley, I wasn't able to get them all photographed because of the herd of people, but we'll get them next time.  By the end of the day, we were all VERY worn out...especially sweet Addisyn.
The kids were all PERFECT on the way home even though none of them fell asleep.  AND we missed the rush hour traffic as we passed thru Dallas on our way home.  Despite all of the craziness, we all had a very fun day!  Thank you, God, for blessing us with such incredible neighbors!!

5th Wedding Anniversary Weekend

For our 5th wedding anniversary, we decided to celebrate in Hot Springs, AR. Friday night, we went out to eat at this great local Italian restaurant called Jahna's. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was very fun! Part of the reason I've started blogging is to hold myself accountable for taking more pictures because I'm really the worst EVER! With that being said, I really wanted to get a picture of the two of us at Jahna's and was trying to figure out the best way. Eddie thought it would be really embarrassing to ASK anyone to take our picture and so, after harrassing him all night, he agreed to this. I could come sit on his side of the booth and he would take our picture. He really does not like to call any attention to himself, so he said he would only take 1 picture and then I had to go back to my side as quickly as possible. Here was the picture he took:

Clearly not the greatest picture and so he agreed to take one more...but this was the last one...really.
Yeah, he may have overcompensated alittle on the head tilt, but at least he looks alittle happier in this picture.  Does this make you laugh hysterically? I was doubled over laughing so hard I could not get out of his side of the booth! I have to say that it really is fun being married to this guy...he can really make me laugh!  After dinner, we went to see The Blind Side...great, great movie!!

Saturday, we were off to the races! A bunch of our friends were in Hot Springs this weekend celebrating our good friend, Michelle's, birthday. We met up with them at the races.

(A picture of the girls: Andrea, me, Alexia, Brooke, Michelle and her sister, Angie)
Meanwhile, Brooklyn was had a blast with Mimi and Doodad in Texarkana.

Thanks Mimi and Doodad for taking care of her so that Eddie and I could enjoy a weekend of eating out, sleeping in, and celebrating our first 5 years together!!

17 Weeks and Bumping Right Along

I've had my blog page set up for about 3 weeks now, but have been waiting for something grand and exciting to make as my first blog entry. Well, after 3 blog-less weeks, I've realized that maybe our life isn' t that grand and exciting??? So...this will have to do as our first blog.

I can't ever seem to coordinate with Eddie with getting a picture of the bump so I attempted to do it myself in the mirror. (Hence, the crazy eyes) I'm 17 weeks pregnant now and had a regular Dr's appointment today. Baby's heartrate was in the 140's and everything looked good. The most exciting party of the appointment was that we scheduled THE BIG SONOGRAM!! (The one where they measure all of the baby parts and let us know the gender!!) The BIG DATE is March 25th at 2:15!! That's right...in just 2 weeks we will know the gender!!

And latest with Brooklyn? She is REALLY into putting on shoes. She is constantly going into our closet and coming out wearing a pair of our shoes. When we go to playlands at fast food places I have to stand guard over the shoe cubby holes because she wants to put on all of the other kids' shoes. Gross! Last week she managed to get a pair of her own shoes on all by herself (a pair that I find alittle hard to get on her feet as they are getting too small...so it was really impressive). Yesterday I walked into the kitchen to find this...

Can you tell how proud she is of herself? If you are not sure exactly what is going on here, Brooklyn is not wearing any pants and has managed to get into my rainboots that are as long as her legs. She was so happy about her accomplishment, she could not stop giggling. This is a pretty fun stage of life!
